Today there are at least two such assets operating in the Black Sea theatre:

  • a USAF Boeing RC-135W (reg. 62-4138 – callsign HOMER41) took off from Souda Bay AB and is flying along the border between Romania and Moldovia
  • a French Air Force Boeing E-3CF (reg. 203), took off from the French base of Avord, is also arriving in the area
