US assets on task

A busy afternoon over the eastern Mediterranean for US military assets. This morning, a US Navy Boeing P-8A departed from NAS Sigonella and operated off the coasts of Syria and Lebanon, conducting a SIGINT mission.

From the same base, a USAF Northrop Grumman RQ-4B (reg. 11-2046 – c/s FORTE11) took off and is heading east. The signal was lost over Israel, but it’s possible that the drone is heading towards the Red Sea, as it has done in the past.

Meanwhile, a Boeing E-3A (reg. 75-0556), which took off from Souda Bay AB, is orbiting between Crete and Cyprus.
