Italian missions in Libya

We have seen that today there have been two US missions related to Libya, but it’s not just American assets that have operated in the area. In fact, we also tracked two Italian flights.

An Italian Navy Piaggio P.180 (registration MM62213) took off from Lampedusa and landed in Tripoli before returning to Italy. It is worth noting that we also tracked a similar flight yesterday. We remind that an Italian military unit is stationed in Tripoli to assist the Libyan navy, so these flights might be connected to this presence.

The second flight was an Italian Air Force Lockheed C-130J (registration MM62194), which flew from Pisa to Misrata. This flight is related to the presence of the Italian military hospital in the Libyan town
