Eyes on the eastern Mediterranean Sea

In recent weeks, we have repeatedly tracked a Turkish Navy ATR P-72MPA conducting a mission in the Mediterranean with a particular pattern. The aircraft follows a square route between the Greek islands and Cyprus before returning to its base in Dalaman. The last time such a mission was carried out by an ATR 72MPA (reg. TCB-754) was yesterday.

Today, a Hellenic Air Force EMB-145 AEW&C (reg. 729 – c/s OURANOS31) took off from Elefsis AB and conducted a roughly 4-hour mission over the same area of sea.

We do not know if the two events are connected, but even in this case, we had recorded similar missions in the past few days
