This morning, several NATO assets are active from the Baltic to the Black Sea. In detail:

Operations in the Baltic:

A Swedish Saab S100D Argus (SVF604) is active over the Baltic Sea, flying above Poland and near the Baltic States. This AWACS aircraft is used for air surveillance and airspace control, contributing to the security of the region.

Two Boeing RC-135 aircraft from the United States Air Force (USAF) are present: JAKE17, an RC-135V, and JAKE27, an RC-135U. The RC-135V is a reconnaissance aircraft specialized in signals intelligence (SIGINT) collection, while the RC-135U is used for electronic intelligence (ELINT) missions, designed to analyze enemy radar emissions. Both are operating near Poland and Lithuania, a highly sensitive area due to its proximity to Russia and Belarus.

An Italian Gulfstream E.550 CAEW (PERSEO71), used for electronic surveillance and radar support, is visible over Latvia and Estonia. Its presence strengthens monitoring operations in the Baltic region, where NATO is maintaining a constant level of attention due to tensions with Russia.

Movements over the Black Sea:

Further southeast, a British Boeing RC-135W (RRR7203) from the Royal Air Force (RAF) is flying over Romania, near Moldova and the Black Sea. This RC-135W is also specialized in electronic signals and intelligence collection, a crucial operation in an area where the war in Ukraine has raised the level of alert.

A Boeing P-8A maritime patrol aircraft from the US Navy is active in the same area, likely engaged in submarine detection and monitoring operations, given the strategic importance of the Black Sea for naval presence.
