Routine mission for a US Navy Boeing P-8A, which took off from NAS Sigonella. The Poseidon is currently orbiting over the Danube Delta for a surveillance mission over the western Black Sea.
It is interesting to note that before positioning itself in the mission area, the aircraft performed an aerial refueling with a USAF Boeing KC-135R (registration 59-1511), which took off from RAF Mildenhall and arrived in the area after a flight of over 3 hours.
This refueling will allow the P-8A to stay airborne longer, extending its operational time in the mission area.
