The Italian Navy aircraft carrier ITS Cavour (C 550) arrived yesterday in the port of Alexandria, Egypt, after returning to the Mediterranean following its campaign in the Far East, which began on June 2 with its departure from Taranto.

During the cruise, the Italian carrier strike group, consisting of the Cavour, the frigate ITS Alpino (F 594), and, in the last part of the journey, the PPA ITS Montecuccoli (P 432), participated in exercises in Australia and Japan.

Next week, before returning to Italy, ITS Cavour will take part in the NATO exercise Neptune Strike in the Eastern Mediterranean.
