Yesterday we’ve tracked a Turkish Air Force Boeing E-7T /c/s HVK42) flying over the area between Bulgaria and the Black Sea near Romania. The aircraft performed several circular maneuvers over the coast of ConstanČ›a, close to the border with Ukraine and Crimea, areas highly sensitive due to the current geopolitical context.
This type of aircraft is an airborne radar system (AWACS) capable of monitoring wide areas for intelligence gathering and aerial surveillance. The E-7T is equipped with advanced systems to detect threats and provide real-time support, allowing Turkish forces to gather data and monitor air activity in the region.
The area of operation is strategic and highly delicate due to existing tensions in the Black Sea region, especially regarding the situation in Ukraine and the Russian presence in Crimea. Turkey’s surveillance activities could be linked to NATO or other partners to ensure continuous monitoring of the situation.
