The video below shows the mission carried out yesterday by a USAF Northrop Grumman RQ-4B “Global Hawk” drone (reg. 10-2015, c/s FORTE15). The Global Hawk is used for long-range surveillance missions.
The video highlights a route that, starting from NAS Sigonella, crosses the Mediterranean and continues towards Eastern Europe, flying over countries like Romania and Poland, with a focus on the border between Poland and Kaliningrad, the Russian enclave.
FORTE15 is one of several assets used to monitor the geopolitical and military situation near Ukraine and Russia. The RQ-4B “Global Hawk” drones are equipped with sophisticated reconnaissance systems and are frequently involved in NATO operations to gather information on military movements, particularly during the war in Ukraine. These missions are crucial for aerial surveillance and strategic data collection without risking human pilots, as the drone can operate at high altitudes and for extended periods.
