Today, we are once again observing significant activity in the Baltic region, with a focus on the area of Kaliningrad.
At least four NATO SIGINT assets are currently in the area or on their way. In detail:
- NATO Boeing E-3B (reg. LX-N90445) orbiting southwest of Gdańsk.
- RAF Boeing RC-135W (reg. ZZ666) flying around the Russian territory of Kaliningrad.
- Swedish Air Force Gulfstream KORPEN (reg. 102003) orbiting south of Kaliningrad.
- USAF Boeing RC-135V (reg. 64-14843), which took off from Souda Bay AB. After refueling mid-air over central Poland, it is also heading south of Kaliningrad.
These flights highlight the intensification of aerial surveillance activities in the regions bordering Russia and Belarus, reflecting the tense geopolitical climate in Eastern Europe. The Baltic region is a strategic point, and the deployment of specialized aircraft suggests constant monitoring of military movements and critical infrastructure.
