A weird callsign

This morning, a G550 Nachshon Aitam aircraft (reg. 537) of the Israeli Air Force has been conducting surveillance operations in the eastern Mediterranean, off the Lebanese coast. Notably, the aircraft adopted an unusual callsign, “DENMARK.” However, Copenhagen has nothing to do with it.

The G550 Nachshon Aitam, registered as number 537, is a special mission aircraft based on the Gulfstream G550 platform. Specifically designed for intelligence gathering and battlefield management tasks, this aircraft is equipped with advanced radar systems and electronic sensors, making it a strategic tool for national security and defense.
