After more than two weeks stationary west of Oran, the Russian Navy tanker Yelnya has resumed its movements, heading west at a speed of approximately 6 knots.

It is unclear what activities it undertook during these two weeks at anchor, but it is possible that it provided support (resupply) to other Russian units passing through the area, ranging from amphibious assault ships bound for Syria to the submarine Novorossiysk, which recently left the Mediterranean.

Last radio message from Yelnya

Now, the Yelnya also appears to be preparing to leave the Mediterranean and return to Russia, further reducing the Russian presence in the region.
