The USAF Northrop Grumman RQ-4B (reg. 11-2046 – c/s FORTE11) took off yesterday evening, around 19:00 CET, from NAS Sigonella to carry out a SIGINT mission in the Baltic region.
The drone spent 4 hours orbiting over Estonia, allowing it to monitor the area around St. Petersburg.
Such missions have become quite frequent, especially since USAF drones ceased operations over the Black Sea, focusing instead on the Baltic region or, more sporadically, the Red Sea.
