A SIGINT mission conducted by a USNavy Boeing P-8A over the Black Sea is concluding at this moment.
The Poseidon, which took off from NAS Sigonella this morning at around 08:00 CET, carried out a flight over the Black Sea, reaching the eastern part of the basin.
The entire mission took place within the Bulgarian and Turkish FIRs but remained in international airspace.
The flight path appears to be the same as the one followed last week by a French Mirage 2000D, which was also engaged in a surveillance mission.
It is worth noting that the U.S. administration has prohibited sharing data collected from these missions with Ukraine.
Additionally, just yesterday, a pair of P-8As equipped with the new AN/APS-154 radar systems left the Mediterranean theater and returned home.
