Kildin spy ship left the Mediterranean Sea

On Friday afternoon, the Russian Navy spy ship Kildin left the Mediterranean. This is significant news because the Kildin had been sailing in the Mediterranean for over a year and a half (possibly even longer), causing concern among NATO countries in the region — even more so than the Russian warships.

The Kildin‘s mission is to gather intelligence and data (despite its official designation as a “scientific research vessel”). Over the past months, it roamed various parts of the Mediterranean — notably sparking a wave of surveillance missions in early January — before suffering a major malfunction off the coast of Syria in late January (including a fire on board), after which it had to head back home.

As a result, the Russian presence in the Mediterranean has been further reduced, now consisting of only one submarine and two frigates.

Monitoring military aircraft and ships movements over Italy and Mediterranean Sea

  • What ‘s the fuss about this ship ? Don’t forget to say that Nato does exactly the same, not to mention the dozens of spy planes, drones, satellites , ships and submarines which spy on all Russian borders and approaches, day and night, all year long ! Nothing is worse than one-sided “information”, especially now .
