Three simultaneous NATO AWACS missions over Northern Europe.

This morning we are tracking three simultaneous missions of NATO AWACS Boeing E-3 Sentry aircraft operating in Northern European airspace.

  • A Boeing E-3A (LX-N90453), callsign NATO01, conducted operational activities off the northwest coast of Norway, performing patrols and repeated orbits near strategically relevant areas in the North Atlantic.
  • A second E-3A (LX-N90448), callsign NATO02, is operating in Dutch and Belgian airspace, where it carried out extended orbits, typical of air surveillance and control missions over the North Sea allied airspace.
  • Finally, a Boeing E-3B (LX-N90443), with callsign NATO21, is continuously patrolling the skies over Latvia and Lithuania, clearly aiming to monitor the eastern borders of the Atlantic Alliance near Russian airspace.

The simultaneous presence of three AWACS indicates a high level of NATO attention in this region, underscoring the strategic importance of continuous monitoring and rapid reaction capabilities for operational needs.
