Unusual (and Unexpected) Iranian Flights

Share
Share

At a time when Iranian airspace has remained closed since the initial Israeli raids, today we are tracking two rather unusual flights. These are an Airbus A340 (reg. EP-IGA) and an Airbus A321 (reg. EP-IGD), both belonging to the Iranian government. The aircraft are currently landing in Muscat, Oman (around 16:00 CEST), with the Airbus A321 following shortly behind.

It is possible that both aircraft departed from Tehran — the flight log of the A321 lists Tehran as its last recorded destination — but we cannot confirm this with certainty, as the ADS-B transponder was only active (or detectable) midway through the flight.

We do not know the reason for these flights or who is onboard.
