Today we tracked significant aerial refueling activity involving no fewer than six USAF Boeing KC-46A Pegasus tankers. All aircraft departed from Ramstein Air Base, Germany, and carried out a coordinated mid-air refueling operation off eastern Sicily and over the eastern Mediterranean.
The tankers involved were:
- Boeing KC-46A (reg. 18-46049, c/s BLUE51)
- Boeing KC-46A (reg. 17-46031, c/s BLUE52)
- Boeing KC-46A (reg. 15-46009, c/s BLUE53)
- Boeing KC-46A (reg. 20-46074, c/s BLUE61)
- Boeing KC-46A (reg. 21-46089, c/s BLUE62)
- Boeing KC-46A (reg. 15-46070, c/s BLUE63)
At this stage, it remains unclear which aircraft these tankers were supporting. However, the pattern suggests a possible westbound deployment from the Gulf region to Europe.
As of now, both the type of aircraft being refueled and their final destination remain unknown. We’ll keep monitoring the situation and report any updates as they emerge.
