Overnight, Russia carried out a new wave of large-scale airstrikes across Ukraine, targeting multiple cities nationwide. Explosions were reported in Zaporizhzhia, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, the Cherkasy region, and even in Kyiv.
According to early reports, the attack involved Tu-95MS strategic bombers and MiG-31K aircraft. More than 400 missiles and drones may have been used in the assault.
In response to the renewed Russian offensive, NATO’s southeastern flank is being closely monitored this morning by at least two surveillance assets.
An US Army Bombardier 650 Artemis (reg. N488CR, c/s BRIO68) is currently orbiting the border area between Romania, Moldova, and Ukraine — a position from which it can also monitor the Lviv region, which was among the targets last night. Meanwhile, an Italian Air Force Gulfstream E.550 CAEW (reg. MM62303), which took off from Pratica di Mare AB, is flying a surveillance mission along the Romanian coast.
