Waiting for USS Ford

Today, around 16:30 CEST, two US Navy Grumman C-2A aircraft (reg. 162162 and 162157) landed at NAS Sigonella.

The two planes had departed from Rota, Spain, where they arrived on July 14 after leaving the aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78), which is currently sailing off the Azores.

After taking off from Rota, the C-2s made a stopover in Cagliari before reaching the Sicilian airbase.

It is clear that preparations are underway ahead of the expected entry of the USS Ford Carrier Strike Group into the Mediterranean—an event that, judging by recent movements, could take place in the coming days.
