The USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78), the largest aircraft carrier ever built, and the USS Winston S. Churchill (DDG-81) have arrived on 4th August in Marseille, France, for a scheduled port visit. Both vessels are part of Carrier Strike Group 12, currently deployed under the U.S. Sixth Fleet to support regional stability and NATO cooperation in Europe and North Africa.
Prior to the visit, the strike group took part in Neptune Strike 25-2, a major NATO exercise involving Spain, Italy, Greece, Finland, and other partners. U.S. ships operated alongside the ESPS Canarias, ITS Spartaco Schergat, and other NATO vessels to enhance interoperability.
