After less than a month since its entry (on July 19), the Carrier Strike Group (CSG) of the U.S. aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78) left the Mediterranean this morning.
The CSG, centered on the Navy’s newest and most advanced aircraft carrier, including USS Winston Churchill (DDG 81) and USS Bainbridge (DDG-96) , along with additional support and logistics vessels.
During its brief time in the region, the American carrier operated in the Adriatic Sea as part of NATO exercises, showcasing integrated air and maritime capabilities, before making a several-day port call in Marseille. It then set course west, leaving the Mediterranean today. This marks the shortest deployment by a U.S. carrier in the Mediterranean in recent years.
