This morning, an Italian Air Force Boeing KC-767A (reg. MM62226, callsign GOSSIP12) was tracked flying over northern Iraq.

After departing from Ali Al Salem Air Base, Kuwait, the tanker carried out an aerial refueling mission in the area between Iraq and Syria, where coalition aircraft routinely operate as part of Operation Inherent Resolve, the ongoing mission against Daesh.

The KC-767A, belonging to the 14th Wing based at Pratica di Mare, regularly supports allied and Italian assets deployed in the region, ensuring extended air presence and operational endurance for both combat and reconnaissance aircraft involved in the mission.
