Yesterday morning, the British aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales (R09) and her escort vessels transited northbound through the Strait of Messina. The transit marks another key step in the carrier’s return journey to the United Kingdom after an extensive deployment to the Indo-Pacific region.

During her voyage back to home waters, Prince of Wales is taking part in the Italian-led exercise Falcon Strike 2025, a major multinational air and maritime drill aimed at strengthening interoperability among NATO allies.

The British flagship is currently operating as part of a Carrier Strike Group (CSG) that also includes several allied vessels, among them the Royal Norwegian Navy frigate HNoMS Roald Amundsen (F310), which has been accompanying the carrier throughout her deployment.
