Russia’s Tu-214PU Reaches Benghazi as Türkiye Continues to Allow Airspace Access

A Russian Air Force Tupolev Tu-214PU (reg. RA-64530), flying as RFF7252, has carried out another long-range mission from Moscow to Benghazi, Libya.

After crossing southern Russia, the aircraft entered Turkish airspace, continuing across the entire country before proceeding over the eastern Mediterranean and then into Libyan airspace to reach Benghazi.

Once again, Türkiye continues to grant full access to its airspace to Russian state aircraft, a posture that remains unchanged despite the ongoing war in Ukraine and Ankara’s status as a NATO member. This stands in contrast to the restrictions imposed by most Western allies on Russian military and government flights.

Flights of this type have become increasingly frequent over the past months, with Benghazi serving as a recurring destination for Russian government aviation.
