A U.S. Air Force Boeing E-4B “Nightwatch” (reg. 75-0125 – c/s BOJ199) crossed the Atlantic today and is heading to Souda Bay Air Base, Greece, as U.S. President Donald Trump prepares to attend the upcoming NATO summit in Ankara. The deployment highlights the extensive military support accompanying high-level presidential travel and places one of the United States’ most important airborne command assets closer to the eastern Mediterranean.

The aircraft departed from Omaha, United States, before crossing the North Atlantic en route to Greece. While E-4B deployments often accompany presidential overseas visits, their presence also ensures that U.S. national command authorities retain secure communications and continuity-of-government capabilities throughout the trip.

The Boeing E-4B serves as the National Airborne Operations Center (NAOC), providing a survivable airborne command platform capable of supporting the President, the Secretary of Defense, and senior military leadership during crises.
