USAF mission in Benghazi

Yesterday evening around 19:00 CET an USAF Boeing C-17A (reg. 07-7189 – callsign RCH268 ) left Ramstein AFB, Germany, southbound. We’ve lost the signal of the aircraft when it was in flight over northen Tyrrhenian Sea but the aircraft continued its flight southbound. The “Globemaster” indeed was directed to Benghazi, Libya.

After a short stop in the Libyan city the aircraft left Benghazi around 23:15 CET to land in Ramstein AFB after 3 hours at 02:10 CET.

We don’t know the nature of the mission but in the past we’ve already tracked similar flights with final destination an airbase in Germany.
