RAF flight to Libya

We have tracked USAF flights to Libya several times. The Italian ones to Misrata (in support of the Italian military hospital) are now routine as wellthe Turkish ones to western Libya or Russian flights to eastern Libya.

However, it is the first time that we have tarcked a RAF flight to Libya.

Last night a RAF Boeing C-17A (reg. ZZ175 – callsign RRR6703) took off at 17:51 CET from RAF Brize Norton southbound.

The flight was trackable until 20:40 CET when it was south of Malta, then was trackable again at 22:43 when it now headed north again (it landed in Brize Norton at 01:52).

We therefore do not know if the aircraft landed in Tripoli or Misrata but we are sure that it landed in Libya.
The nature of the mission is unknown but it certainly represents an unusual mission.
