NATO exercises continue in the Mediterranean.
Several NATO frigates are moored at the port of Catania:
- Spanish Navy frigate Blas de Lezo (F103)
- Royal Canadian Navy frigate HMCS Montreal (FFH336)
- Royal Navy patrol vessel HMS Trent (P224)
- Turkish Navy Gabya class frigate
The “Dynamic Manta 22” anti-submarine exercise begins on February 21. Ships, submarines, as well as aircraft and personnel from eight Allied nations are converging in the Central Mediterranean Sea for anti-submarine warfare (ASW) and anti-surface warfare training.
