Important day for the naval forces in the Mediterranean.
In these minutes, the Russian Navy cruiser Marshal Ustinov (055) is leaving the Mediterranean Sea through the Strait of Gibraltar.
The cruiser had entered the Mediterranean on 7 February and in recent months it has carried out numerous missions, in the Ionian Sea, the eastern Mediterranean, and lately also in the Adriatic Sea.
Impressive is the NATO apparatus that is following the Russian ship.

- Spanish Navy frigate Victoria (F82) near Gibraltar sailing west
- USNavy destroyer USS Bainbridge (DDG-96) and USS Cole (DDG-67) also sailing westwards
- Royal Navy frigate HMS Lancaster (F229) in the Atlantic Ocean southeast of the Strait of Gibraltar
With the exit of the Ustinov, the most powerful Russian ship currently deployed in the Mediterranean becomes the Varyag, a unit of the same class (Slava)
