NATO patrols in the eastern Mediterranean continue today.

Today we are tracking a new entry, in fact an RCAF Lockheed CP-140 (reg. 140103) has just completed its mission and is landing at Sigonella.

Shortly before the Canadian aircraft returned to Sicily, a USNavy Boeing P-8A took off from Sigonella, also targeting the Eastern Mediterranean.

These days, most of the Russian Navy’s surface vessels are in the eastern Mediterranean. In recent days, however, news has leaked out that a Russian Akula class submarine has also entered the Mediterranean, bringing the number of Russian submarines in the Mediterranean theatre to three.
