Aussie Poseidon on task over Mediterranean

Today, thanks to Sergio Scandura, we were able to track for the first time a rather unusual aircraft for the Mediterranean: a RAAF Boeing P-8A (reg. A47-010) carried out a mission over the western Mediterranean from Sigonella.

After some research we verified that this is not the first mission in the Mediterranean theatre by this aircraft.

The Poseidon arrived in Sicily from Australia (via Dubai) on 29 September and carried out its first mission, in the central Mediterranean, on 3 October.

To date, there is no official news to explain the reason for the presence of the Australian aircraft in Sicily. Should there be any in the future we will keep you informed
