Long day for the Italian SPYDR

Last 9 December, the Italian Air Force Beechcraft B.350ER SPYDR (reg. MM62300) had returned to Italy after about two months spent in Cyprus (where it had been deployed for SIGINT missions over the eastern Mediterranean).

Today was another busy day for the Italian aircraft.

At 07:09 CET, the SPDYR left Pratica di Mare AB for Decimomannu AB where it landed at 08:15. At 10:43 the aircraft left the Sardinian base to carry out a mission over the Western Mediterranean.

We do not know exactly where it carried out its activity because at 11:00 CET it switched off the ADS-B transponder and only switched it on again at 15:25.

We can assume that the aircraft carried out the mission between Sardinia, the Balearic Islands and Algeria (and beyond…), as it has done in the past.

We’ve tracked in the past thesame plane carrying out this type of mission in this area (departing Decimomannu AB).

After a stop always but Decimomannu the aircraft took off at 17:15 towards Pratica di Mare AB
