We know that the USS George H.W. Bush (CVN-77) is sailing in the southern Adriatic and is regularly refuelled by USNavy Grumman C-2As.

What is unusual today is that the pair of Greyhounds (reg. 162171 & 162140) did not take off from NAS Sigonella or Naples as is usually the case, but from Ciampino airport, south of Rome.
