After spending nearly four months stationed in the Red Sea, the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69) and USS Gravely (DDG-107) transited the Suez Canal today, as announced by the Navy.
The flagship of the Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group, Ike, and Gravely are currently in the Eastern Mediterranean, as stated in a news release from U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa. The duration of their stay in the Mediterranean is uncertain at this time.
The Ike Carrier Strike Group embarked on its deployment on October 13 and proceeded to the Red Sea, where it participated in Operation Prosperity Guardian. During their time in the Red Sea, aircraft from Ike and Gravely successfully intercepted several Houthi drones and anti-ship missiles.
