Four (of six) Italian Air Force Locheed Martin F-35A deployed to Keflavik Airbase to conduct NATO air policing and training duties over Iceland are back today in Italy.

An Italian Boeing KC-767A (MM62229) is departed with the F-35s from Keflavik and, after an aerial refueling over southern Piedmont is landed around 5:30PM, local time, in Rome Ciampino.

The four F-35s are landed in Amendola AB, northern Apulia, the homebase of 32nd Wing . The last two are expected to Italy in the next days.
For Italy it was the fifth time – and the second time in 2019 – to support this NATO mission that showcases Allied solidarity, readiness and cooperation.

During the deployment the Task Force Air 32nd Wing has achieved the FOC (Final Operational Capability) for NATO’s Icelandic Air Policing.
