“Margottini” arrived in Taranto (after COVID-19 sanitary protocol)

The Italian Navy frigate “Margottini” (F592), currently included in the European assets of Eunavformed IRINI operation, arrived yesdterday at the naval base of Taranto from Augusta.

60 COVID-19 positive sailors were found on board the ship in the last week.

Only personnel who tested negative in the second cycle of nose-pharyngeal swab are present on board following the positive cases found in the last hours.

The 60 cases of positivity to the swab were immediately landed and placed in isolation at the Navy’s shore facilities in Augusta, 4 are hospitalized with symptoms at the Umberto I polyclinic in Syracuse.
