Turkish look on MEDUSA exercise (and more…)

Until 6 December Greece, Cyprus, France, Egypt and the UAE will conduct an exercise in the Eastern Mediterranean (MEDUSA 2020). Naval, submarine and air units are engaged.
All these countries are committed to countering Turkish ambitions on the Eastern Mediterranean. It is therefore natural that Turkey wants to keep an eye on what is happening in that part of the Mediterranean.

This morning (10:38 CET) in the area were operating a Turkish Air Force Boeing E-7T (reg. 13-002 – callsign TURAF52) and also a Turkish Navy CASA CN-235 MSA (reg. TCB-652 – callsign TURNA12)

In the meantime, however, the airlift to Libya continued with three Turkish Air Force Airbus A400Ms (reg. 17-0078, 15-0051, 18-0093 – callsign TURAF219/220/221) flying towards the western part of the country (11:29 CET).

Last but not least an USAF Boeing RC-135U (reg. 64-14849 – callsign LUMPY63) departed from Souda Bay AB and on route to make an usual ISR mission off Syria made a detour (11:08 CET) in the area where is orbiting the Turkish AWACS and, after, where the exercise is taking place.
