The Leonardo EC-27J “Jedi” is based on C-27J and it has been extensively modified to perform Electronic Warfare missions (for more information you can read the very interesting post published by “The Aviationist”, clicking HERE).

The Italian plane (reg. MM62224 – callsign WOLF27) is departed around 16:30 CET from Erbil (where it seems to be based) and now is orbiting south of Iraqi city.
