Russian guest in Libya

Yesterday a Russian Air Force Tupolev Tu-154M (reg. RA-85042 – callsign RFF8601) departed from Damascus, Syria, at 14:34 CET landed somewhere in eastern Libya (probably at the Al-Khadim air base). The signal was lost around 16:00 when the aircraft was descending.

The aircraft had originally taken off from Moscow and made a stopover in Damasco.

It is interesting to note that usually these flights (which have a fairly regular frequency) stop at the Latakia air base and not at the airport of the Syrian capital.

At the moment the aircraft does not seem to be taking off again from Libya to Russia
