Close encounter over the Baltic

During a recent QRA (Quick Reaction Alert) task in support of NATO Baltic Air Policing mission a pair of Italian Air Force Lockheed Martin F-35A (reg. MM7357 & MM7361) intercepted, off Paldiski (west of Tallin), a Russian Air Force Antonov An-12BK (reg.  RF-93585?) in flight from St. Petersburg to Kaliningrad.

During the interception, the Italian aircraft were in close contact with at least one Russian Air Force Sukhoi Su-30SM (reg. RF-81740).

The images and video of the “meeting” were posted on instagram and twitter.
