This morning we tracked an unusual Italian Air Force activity over the central Mediterranean.
A Boeing KC-767A (reg. MM62229 – callsign BRQUE37) that took off at 09:45 CEST from Pratica di Mare AB southwards met some ItAF Panavia Tornado IDS, departed Ghedi AB, (one of them was MM7052 callsign PUPA12) north off Sicily continuing its flight southbound.
A Gulfstream E.550 CAEW (reg. MM62293 – callsign IAM1495) also took off from Pratica di Mare and headed south of Sicily.
The track of the tanker has always been visible and seems to have carried out a refueling in flight south of Lampedusa.

The CAEW route, on the other hand, was interrupted for about two hours until, at 12:30, the aircraft landed in Trapani Birgi AB.
The Tornado track, on the other hand, was only visible in the scrennshot that we have reported above.
We have no information on the nature of this mission
