After a year of renovation and upgrading, the crew of the French Navy frigate “Courbet” (F-712) is back in a ship with a modernised combat system, whose structure and stability have been reinforced.
Under the direction of the Training Division of the Naval Action Force, the sailors of the Courbet went through a series of exercises during an operational conditioning course, thus qualifying their ship for the missions to come.
Based in Toulon, the Courbet is the first of the three La Fayette class frigates to benefit of the refurbishment/upgrade programme that started in October 2020. A multi-purpose combat ship carrying more than 150 sailors, the Courbet can carry out maritime surveillance, intelligence, special forces missions or even integration into a task force in a crisis zone.
