This morning, at 06:00 CET, a USAF Lockheed U-2S Dragon Lady (reg. 80-1092) has departed from RAF Akrotiri, Cyprus, heading west.
After a few minutes the spy aircraft switched off the ADS-B transponder and could no longer be tracked.
We do not know whether it was (or still is) carrying out a mission as part of operations in Ukraine or not.
RAF Akrotiri is the base from which the U-2 has carried out numerous surveillance missions over the Middle East and usually such missions (unlike the Global Hawk) are not trackable.
