This morning an Hellenic Air Force Embraer EMB-145 AEW&C (reg. 729, callsign OURAN31) left at 08:46 CET Elefsis AB near Athens.

The AWACS is now orbiting near the limits of the Greek FIR west of Crete. This type of mission is not unusual because the aircraft operates as an IRINI asset and monitors movement in the area east of Libya.
