This morning we’re tracking an intense air activity over the central Mediterranean:

  • Italian Air Force ATR P-72A (reg. MM62279) departed from Sigonella AB is carrying out a patrol mission with ADS-B trasnsponder switched off
  • USNavy Boeing P-8A departed from Sigonella AB is in flight over central Mediterranean sea eastbound (not visible)
  • USNavy Grumman C-2A departed from USS Truman (underway in the aouthern Ionian Sea) is landing in NAS Sigonella
  • Hellenic Air Force Embraer EMB-145 AEW&C (reg. 729, callsign OURAN31) departed from Elefsis AB is carrying out a surveillance mission west of Crete

Several Russian naval units are reported in the central Mediterranean. Yesterday we published a photo of a Russian destroyer sailing north of Crete.
