This afternoon, at around 18:00 CEST on the Black Sea, two opposing assets found themselves in the same area, but several tens of kilometres apart: a USAF Northrop Grumman RQ-4B (reg. 11-2046 – callsign FORTE10), which had departed from NAS Sigonella, and was carrying out a usual surveillance mission, and a Russian Air Force Tupolev Tu-214N (reg. RG-64519), which had taken off from Sevastopol, a former aircraft used by Russia during the Open Skies programme and equipped with various surveillance systems.
