US assets at work

A new intense afternoon in the skies over the Black Sea area. Today we are reporting the deployment of several US assets in the area:

  • a pair of USMC F/A-18Cs (callsign AXE) are conducting a Combat Air Patrol over eastern Romania;
  • in support of them is a USAF Boeing KC-135R (reg. 59-1464 – callsign CASA20);
  • a USAF Boeing RC-135W (reg. 62-4138 – callsign HOMER11) is carrying out a SIGINT mission near the Moldovan border
  • a USArmy CL.650 ARTEMIS is carrying out a similar mission in the same area (but also near the Ukrainian border)
