The ‘Falcon Strike 2022’ exercise over the Tyrrhenian Sea, the Sardinia Channel, and the Gulf of Taranto began today and will end on 24 November.

This morning, several Italian and foreign assets from both the Air Force and the Navy kicked off the exercise.

Coordinating the activities, an Italian Air Force Gulfstream E.550 CAEW orbited (and is still orbiting now, 15:00 CET) over the Tyrrhenian Sea while several aerial refuelling missions took place.

At least two Italian aircraft took part in these, a KC-767A (reg. MM62227 – callsign PETROL46) and a KC-130J (reg. MM62181 – callsign FOIL47) and two USAF aircraft, Boeing KC-135R (reg. 60-0353, 58-0100)
