Long patrol mission for an Italian P-72A

Today we tracked an unusual mission for an Italian Air Force ATR P-72A (reg. MM62280).

Unusual because it was possible to track part of it, unusual because the aircraft operated over the Ionian Sea (and so far nothing strange) but also much further east, south of Crete.

The ATR took off from Sigonella AB at around 09:00 CET and landed 6 hours later at 15:00.

Remember that although operated by the Italian Air Force, the Italian ATR P-72As perform missions on behalf of the Italian Navy.
